Our trustee board has six people on paper.
But we’re not getting any younger either, and a charity such as this, requires younger people to carry it forward into it’s future.
What it actually involves
Four meetings a year. A few hours of your time. Help with decisions about funding, new defib locations, and keeping the charity running properly.
That’s it.
We’re not looking for heart specialists or lawyers. We’re looking for people with a background in business, marketing, fundraising, or community work. Or honestly, just someone who cares about Southend and wants to do something that matters.
Why it matters
We maintain 12 publicly accessible defibrillators across Southend. Getting there means growing the charity, and that needs more hands on the board.
Every minute without a defibrillator reduces survival chances by up to 10 per cent. This isn’t abstract. These boxes get used. They save lives.
